After high school in Sydney, Todd pursued undergraduate studies at University of Pennsylvania and continued to postgraduate studies at University of Cambridge. After experiencing firsthand the benefits of studying and living overseas, he is now on a mission to broaden the awareness of opportunities that Australian students have but may not be aware of. He follows Dr Rebecca Duncan and Professor Will Figueira as the latest presenter in Westbourne’s 2025 Guest Speaker Programme.
Presenting to all students at College (Years 10-12), Todd shared that after studying high school he wanted to challenge himself – and his career path – by broadening his perspective and undertaking tertiary studies overseas. His perspective on how rewarding resilience and persistence over time can be was simply resounding.
In an open discussion with students, he highlighted what he gained by studying overseas, how studying overseas helped him secure a role in the corporate world back in Sydney and gave insight on application processes, detailing specific examples of students who failed at first but then was admitted into elite universities later on. His visit brought to the forefront how studying overseas gave him focus on building connections while encountering cultures and learning ways of thinking across the world.
