Within Creativity, Activity and Service (a core element of the IB Diploma), Elaine and her fellow classmate Thien raised awareness of climate changes and long term effects on the world’s eco-system.

After graduating with a perfect IB score (ATAR 99.95), Elaine continued her CAS efforts, contributing to society through a 2 week volunteer project in Bali, called North Bali Reef Conservation. The residential program focused on building artificial reef structures and deploying them in the ocean, helping to recover the damaged reef and supporting local fishermen based in Tianyar in north Bali. Since her return to Sydney, she has commenced undergraduate studies in double degree of Engineering and Law at USYD.

Awarded with the 2025 Elevate: Boosting Diversity in STEM Scholarship, Leila has commenced the Bachelor of Science (Advanced) at USYD.

“Studying STEM is important to me because it will allow me to contribute to scientific advancements that have a tangible, real-world impact. My experiences, such as participating in the UNSW SciX program and conducting my Extended Essay research in chemistry, solidified my passion for scientific research, and desire to contribute to a greater cause.”

Graduating from the STEM & Business IB Diploma at Westbourne with 40 IB points, Nikita was recognised along with fellow top performing graduates from Class of 2023 for his incredible talent in mathematics as the recipient of:

Introduced in 2020, the Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award recognises Australian high school students studying science and mathematics in Year 12. They must demonstrate motivation, innovation and achievement in a STEM related field.

• University of Melbourne 2023 Mathematics & Statistics Research Competition (High Commendation)

Since 1972, this competition has been of a demanding standard, designed to identify real mathematical talent.

He now continues his love of STEM undertaking Bachelor of Material Sciences at National University of Singapore.

After graduating from Westbourne’s inaugural Class of 2022, Jamie progressed to undertaking English Literature and Philosophy at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) a leading university in a country reknown for one of the best educational systems in the world.

“Despite prior knowledge of the IBDP’s academic and holistic focus, I found myself pleasantly surprised by how it equipped me for various aspects of university life. My ability to persist through deadlines, collaborate with others and, overall, engage with academic challenges, was founded through my memorable experience at Westbourne College.”

With her 43 IB Points, Dylan graduated top of her class and has progressed onto pursuing advanced mathematics and actuarial studies at UNSW. Westbourne’s Dr Lusha Kodikara predicts,
that once her university studies are complete, she will return to the USA and become their first female president.

Anthony, who joined Westbourne School UK’s IB Sixth Form to study the IB Diploma, has continued to at one of the world’s most outstanding universities, The California Institute of Technology (Caltech) after winning a PhD scholar’s place. A global leader in sciences and engineering, with the highest per capita Nobel Prize winners in the US, Caltech is known for its highly selective admissions criteria, with a total student body of only approximately 2,000.

From Ukraine to Oxford, Illia has taken courageous strides and earnt a place to commence undergraduate studies at University of Oxford, October 2025.

He joins fellow IBDP alumnus, Samuel Stoddard, at University of Oxford in October 2025 where he will go on to pursue the three-year PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics) course. One of the most prestigious undergraduate degrees in the country, PPE at Oxford is known for catapulting some of UK’s most prominent politicians and leaders to the limelight, including David Cameron, Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, David and Ed Miliband, Tony Benn, Peter Mandelson, Edward Heath, Michael Heseltine, Edwina Currie, and many others.
