Westbourne College Sydney’s 2025 International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme cohort has achieved exceptional results, continuing the College’s strong record as one of Australia’s highest-performing IB-only senior schools.
Results include:
- One-third of students achieved an ATAR of 95 or more
- One-in-five students achieved an ATAR of 97 or more
- One-in-10 students achieved an ATAR over 99
- The median IB score was 37 points, equivalent to an ATAR of approximately 94
These results reinforce Westbourne’s position in the top tier of IB schools nationally and highlight the strength of its IB-only, STEM-focused and business-focused academic model.
We extend special congratulations to our top-performing students: Andrey Butko, who achieved an outstanding IB score of 44 and is planning to commence Double Actuarial Studies at UNSW, and Siwa Haberlah, our youngest IB2 student at just 16 years of age, who also earned an exceptional score of 44 and plans to study Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Sydney.
We are also pleased that Westbourne students’ results were recognised in a recent Sydney Morning Herald article, reflecting the strength of our academic program and the dedication of our students and teaching staff.

Principal Patrick McGing congratulated the students on their achievements:

IB Coordinator and Deputy Principal Jonathan Marfleet praised both the academic achievement and the culture behind it:
