“One of my most notable STEM endeavours was attending the 2025 International Science School, a life changing experience that redirected me from a lost and naive student, towards someone who is going to pursue a career in STEM…Now it’s my turn to give back to the community that gave me so much and inspire other students to find their spark in STEM, the same way media, mentors and opportunities once inspired me,” said Alexander.
Amelia and Alexander, Diploma Programme 1 (Year 11), will join a select team of 7 media-savvy high school student volunteers from across Australia and New Zealand where their voices will help shape what Careers with STEM looks like across the next 12 months.
“I applied to the Careers with STEM Student Advisory Board because I’m passionate about helping other students discover the exciting opportunities that STEM can open up for their future,” said Amelia.
This opportunity through Careers with STEM will allow them to:
- Voice on content that matters most
- Connect them with editors, journalists and industry professionals
- Inspire fellow STEM students with real, relatable career advice
- Build their leadership and communication skills
- Build friendships across Australia and NZ
“Congratulations to Amelia and Alexander on their recent appointment. This opportunity presented by Careers with STEM is a perfect example where STEM and Business are complementary. These two students demonstrate strong initiative and I’m delighted they will be contributing to the industry directly while building friendships across the ocean – they are certainly leaders-in-the-making,” says Patrick McGing, Principal.
