Heidi was joined by fellow DP1 students Venecia, Araad and Kavya in the Harvard Model UN Conference held in June 2024.

“My Committee was focused on the issue of IP and patent accessibility, specifically for the prevention of vaccine supply shortages during global pandemics. I received an Honourable Mention Award during the final day, and was absolutely thrilled to have engaged with the Harvard alumni network, and engage with meaningful topics and ideas. Our Committee ended with a merged final draft resolution, tackling all the topics we discussed, and compromising on our disputes.
The journey encapsulated diplomacy and was incredibly informative as someone who has only previously engaged with Model United Nations once before.” – Heidi
Participation in the 2024 Harvard Model UN Conference was supported by Westbourne International in line with our mission to accelerate students’ career into the world of business and advancing their network before the end of high school.
“HMUN was one of the best experiences I’ve had as a student. As someone who had never participated in Model UN and trying to get into law and international relations, this experience taught me so much about the field and relevant global issues pressing society today.
It was a great opportunity to build meaningful relationships or networks that will last a long time to come and I’m so grateful to have met all the people I did. Meeting like-minded students who had the same interests and the Harvard alumni who were great role models and inspirations for my achieving my goals was amazing to be a part of and engage with.
I plan on keeping in touch and see this as a great start to a MUN journey!” – Kavya
Congratulations again Venecia, Araad and Kavya for seizing such an opportunity that can contribute to their IB Diploma Programme as part of Creativity, Activity & Service (CAS). These four students competed with fellow classmates to earn a place as a Westbourne student delegate. Read about it here.
