Harmony Day, officially on the 21st of March, is a national observance held on the same day as the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, with the intention of celebrating Australia’s diversity.
As the Westbourne community is wonderfully multicultural, our Harmony Day celebration aimed to acknowledge the cultural diversity in our school and to encourage unity and inclusivity. We shared a myriad of delicious food from many cultural backgrounds and learned about cultures around the world through an exciting diversity-themed Kahoot quiz. Students and staff also came dressed up in a wide range of traditional clothing from various cultures.
This day was a terrific chance to learn about everyone’s backgrounds and see the shared cultural respect within Westbourne!
