As a CAS experience within the IB Diploma, I participated in the 2021 World’s Greatest Shave in order to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia Foundation. The Leukemia Foundation is a charity that acts to support the 110,000 Australians and their families facing blood cancer. Money raised goes towards providing financial assistance, giving accommodation to families who have had to relocate for treatment, and supporting those finding a cure.
I decided to shave my head because I felt that it would be an effective way to raise money, and would allow me to feel closer to the experience of those suffering from Leukemia. This is an experience I will never forget and I am so grateful for the support of my family, friends, and school throughout the whole process.
Thanks to the generosity of many kind people, I was able to raise a grand total of $2,725. These donations will have significant influences on the lives of those suffering and their families.
