With STEM careers projected to grow at twice the rate of non-STEM fields, Westbourne’s STEM-centric IB Diploma provides a unique and future-oriented pathway for students aspiring to excel in these high-demand industries. Our IB Diploma integrates deep subject knowledge with innovative academic exploration, enabling students to develop the skills, experience, and problem-solving abilities crucial for success in STEM careers. Through personalised guidance, our educators support each student in mastering not only theoretical knowledge but also the global-mindedness necessary to drive positive change in the world.

To support a world-class STEM education, our students benefit from access to state-of-the-art STEM facilities at UTS campus including a dry lab and workshop space. These resources enhance the hands-on learning experience, enabling students to engage in advanced research for their extended essays and benefit from practical demonstrations that complement academic theory. Beyond the classroom, Westbourne’s focus on experiential learning ensures our students gain invaluable industry exposure—just like our IB learners Audrey and Niamh, who had the opportunity to tour Amazon’s Fulfilment Centre in Kemps Creek, as featured on 7NEWS Australia.

In 2025, Westbourne students continued to excel both in and outside the classroom, including first and second in Ripyl Fundraiser Innovation Challenge, the AMPOL Best All Rounder Award, a distinction in the STANSW Young Scientist Awards, Long Tan Youth Leadership & Teamwork Awards, and recognition as ADF STEM Award Winners.
