Admissions Overview

At Westbourne College Sydney, we recognise that selecting the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make as a family, and our Admissions team is here to guide you through the process.

Our college offers a STEM-centric Pre-IB & IB Diploma programme for the best, brightest, and most globally ambitious Year 9-12 students. Applications are open for students currently in Year 9 or 10 with admissions filling fast for:

Year 9, 10 or Year 11, 2026
Year 11, 2027

Admissions Process FAQs

How do I apply?

Please submit an application online, attaching your child’s previous two years’ school reports and NAPLAN results. Upon receipt, our Admissions team will be in touch and your child will be invited into the entrance exam process.

What entrance exams does my child have to sit?

All applicants to the College sit three core exams: mathematics (60 minutes), English (60 minutes) and aptitude (45 minutes). Applicants may book a time slot here.

Will my child be interviewed?

Yes. The final stage to the application process is an interview with our Principal.

Where does my child sit the entrance exams?

Entrance exam sessions are held via video conference with an invigilator from Westbourne. An invitation containing our available slots will be sent to you via email following receipt of your application.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, a limited number of scholarship awards are available to the most talented candidates passionate about STEM. They are awarded as a discount from fees on academic merit.

Part of Westbourne College Sydney’s mission is to contribute to Australia’s future success by making STEM careers more attractive and appealing to the widest possible student base. A number of academic, cultural, gender and socio-economic partial scholarships are awarded annually to ensure a balanced and diverse intake. Girls are encouraged to express their interest.

Should your family wish to enrol at Westbourne College Sydney after the term has begun but financial commitment to the current school is impacting your child’s start date at Westbourne, please advise our Admissions team for an individual discussion.

My child has an international student visa, can we apply?

Westbourne College is registered with NESA to accept Australian citizens, permanent residents and select student visas determined on an individual basis.

Please provide a copy of your student visa at time of application for us to review.

Unfortunately as we do not have CRICOS registration, we are unable to accept applications from students who hold an international student visa with CRICOS. Applicants must have local education rights in Australia to apply. For international students with CRICOS registration, who are interested in Westbourne’s unique brand of academic excellence, you may wish to consider Westbourne College Singapore or our award-winning sister boarding school, Westbourne UK .

Do you offer Open Days?

Yes! We very much welcome students and families to visit and experience college life. Please visit our open days page to register your family’s interest.

We have multiple children and keen to enrol them at Westbourne. What is the process?
